Inhale Yoga Studio 17 Cecil Road, WA15 9NZ Hale, Cheshire,
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga may be a challenging physical practice, but the real aim of our Yoga practice is to eventually lead our attention back to the core of the body to help the mind to become still. This workshop will provide detail of how to connect deeper through the breath, developing a solid foundation in the pelvis with detailed instruction of uddhiyana and mula bandha to provide both protection and grounding. This has a strengthening and a subtle effect by impacting on the nervous system and mental activity.Exploring some of the more advanced postures of the Ashtanga sequence using this connection to allow practice to become both smooth and effortless, with modifications to suit everyone. We will explore the basics of breath and pranayama techniques releasing tension in the diaphragm, the key muscle to breathing and linked to our life force and thus, our emotions and energetic body. This will bring both integrity and a deeper understanding to your asana practice. The science & Philosophy will be fully explained to help cultivate a deeper understanding to why we practice what we do, bringing a greater enthusiasm to practice. The aim is “Sthira Sukham Asanam” meaning to be in the posture with full support, feeling centered and without stress.
Suitable for those who have done some yoga before even if new to the Ashtanga sequence.
