Ashtanga Yoga Manchester offers classes and workshops for all bodies in Manchester and now via zoom.

CLASSES

MONDAY 6:45pm - 7:45pm ~ In person and Zoom with Sammy-Jo.

ASHTANGA YOGA OLDHAM

This class is based on the Ashtanga Vinyasa System and aims to build your core strength & pelvic floor connection. Through developing the ability to manage your breath, you will be able to relax the nervous system, leading to a healthy mind and body. The intelligent sequencing of the Ashtanga Vinyasa System with breath awareness will open the body, bringing strength, stability, focus and support the development of inner alignment and awareness. 

Drop in £6.50 or £20 a 4 week pass.

TUESDAY 6:30pm - 7:30pm

ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGA WHALLEY RANGE

This class is suitable for all levels, you will be guided through the essentials of the Ashtanga Primary Series. We start with connection with the breath, calming the mind and synchronising movement to create a flowing practice. We will move through sun salutations and end with the finishing sequence. In-between we discover the standing sequence and a variety of the seated postures.

You will build your core strength & pelvic floor connection, this along with the management of your breath, leads to a healthy mind and body as it downgrades the nervous system to a more relaxed mode.

Drop in £9 or £63 for 8 weeks class pass (to be used in 3 months).

INTRODUCTION TO YOGA  

This is a very gentle introduction to yoga and breathing.

Zoom Drop in £8 or £56 for 8 weeks class pass (to be taken in 3 months conc. £48).

WEDNESDAY 7:30pm - 9:00pm ~ Via Zoom with Vicki.

ASHTANGA YOGA   

This class aims at building your core strength & pelvic floor connection, this along with the management of your breath, leads to a healthy mind and body as it downgrades the nervous system to a more relaxed mode. Combining this with intelligent movement patterns will open the body slowly so yoga postures feel relaxed and stable. Inspired by the Ashtanga system this class will concentrate on different themes each week to build a healthier , stronger and relaxed body.Beginners to this style of yoga are welcome but not suitable for absolute beginners to yoga.

WEDNESDAY 7:00pm - 8:00pm ~ In Person with Janine

PREVENTING AND BALANCING MUSCULAR IMBALANCES WHALLEY RANGE

This class will be delivered in a workshop format to aim to provide you to better understand your own body and what exercises/ stretches your unique and individual body requires. It will draw on a range of yoga postures, many from ashtanga we will also blend a range of techniques from Pilates.  

 

Beneficial for all yogis returning to practice, assisting to rebuild core strength and setting the foundations in developing strength and stability in your asana practice. This course will be great for people with no yoga experience who suffer from tight hips and lower muscular back pain. 

If you miss your class one week, doing worry Janine will send you the recording. You can also use this to practice additional sessions during the week in your own time.

I use my experience from my daily yoga practice to connect with and facilitate students on their journey, allowing each person to practice to their own level and reach their potential.

I aim to make my classes fun and accessible for all bodies with safe modifications and correct alignment.

I aim to share practices and knowledge to support students to gain greater awareness of themselves (body and mind). I do this by supporting people to work with the breath, safely finding alignment, balance and focus in posture. 

Janine Day

TEACHER 

I believe in making yoga accessible to all, more recently I have been teaching yoga to adults in prison and developing Teen Yoga programmes for small charities in Greater Manchester. I bring my interests and journey into my classes along with some humour and personality.
